Is there a chance of adding GIF support? It only seems to support JPG at the moment. I'd love to have this functionality extend to other image types! -Seth |

Hi, I have some plans for 1.4. One feature is the support for any file type to download. you have to provide a jpg for the preview but you can place a gif for download. actually this is intended for movies like avi or mpg ... /Michael |

Sorry. /Michael The GIF licencing shouldnt be an issue anymore since the patent on the compression algorithm that GIF uses has expired. I dont know if newer versions of GD support GIF again, but in any case there will be lots of users with GD versions that dont support GIF. |

new versions do support GIF again. So what about GIF? And PNG? GD supports it all the time. I've seen that gallery makes thumbs for them, but with .jpg extension, and they're not shown at all. |

right - gif would work now - but I hadn't had time to implement it. maybe 1.6 png does work already - but you have to rename your png's to jpg. Internally I check what image type is really in there and treat them how they should. the cache images do always the the extension .jpg even if there an png'S in there. /Michael |
