Post subject:  JFU permissions in J! backend: Admins cannot edit profiles

Hi there!

I run Joomla! 3.4.6 and JFuploader 3.2 (only the component). All my users use the backend to do the Joomla! Work. My "normal" users are inside the author, editor, publisher and manager groups, depending on their knowledge. The site admins are in the administrator group. super user access is used only rarely.

I want to set the JFU permissions like this:
manager: permit only the upload, prevent everything else (like a "normal" user)
administrators: allow everything (konfig / profiles konfig / etc.)
That does not work as far as I can see: I can set all additional permissions to "no" for managers, but when I allow all those for the administrator group, I just get a conflict and it won't work. See images:

Is there a way to do this proberly?

Thanks
Chris

Hi, This settings are actually the settings From Jommla. I only use the result of this.

So the "Konflikt" does come from Joomla? Because I have not seen this yet...

Hello Michael,
thanks for getting back to me.
Actually I am able to setup something like this in other parts of Joomla! CMS. As example: In the permission settings of com_content I can prevent everything for Managers, but still allow everything for Administrators. I don't get a conflict. Similar to this it works with com_banners, etc.. So I was thinking the JFUploader component might have a bug in the implementation of the Joomla! ACL system. Could you try this and get back to me?
Thanks
Chris

So the "Konflikt" text is from Joomla?

I'm upgrading to 3.4.7 of Joomla in the next few days for testing and check if I can reproduce your problem.

Yes, the conflict comes from Joomla.
Thanks for looking into this.

Hi - I just updated to Joomla 3.4.8 and the latest JFU version. I did set the settings like you did and it I don't get any "Konflikt" message.

Can you update to the latest Joomla version? Because the 3.4.7 was a security update as well...

Best, Michael
