Post subject: | JFU and Mac OS X filenames without extension |
Hi! I use Joomla 1.5.14 with JFU 2.10.4. When I choose "add files", all files with filenames that don't have an extension are grayed out and cannot be chosen. I tried it under OS X 10.5.8 and OS X 10.6.1, both with Safari 4 and FireFox 3.5, Flash Plugin is the newest 10,0,32,18. There is no problem choosing this files under Windows XP/Vista. If I use another Flash applet to upload files I can choose files that do not have an extension just fine under OS X. Any idea what is causing this? Kind regards, Lars |

grayed out? I have no control what is done if you click on the add Files - this is completely done from adobe - I only can tell which file extensions are allowed. Are you sure the other solution is based on flash and not a java applet (there is no flash applet). - Michael |

Can I send you an updated version? I have replaced the filter from *.* to * which seems to work fine on my installs. - Michael |

Of course you can send me an updated version. Thank you in advance for the fast reply and support! I just noticed this behavior when I wanted to test a big file upload (>512MB). A lot of graphic artists use Macs and some programs they use don't add extensions to files upon saving and rely on type/creator information instead. Older versions of Photoshop did this, for example. BTW you should not be working on weekends |

The second "new" version works now if you set allowed file extensions to "all" and leave forbidden file extensions empty. Thanks for the help and have a nice weekend, Lars |
