Post subject:  Question about the "Generate Cache" option

I am just wondering if it generate the whole cache each time you hit the option or if it just generates the cache for the files that were never cached before?

It generates the cache files for the files where no cache files where generated yet.

Normally you only do this when you initially upload a lot of images because the cache is generated on the fly as well when the files are needed.

If you don't generated the cache only the first user who accesses the gallery has to wait a little bit longer.
The function is e.g. really if you have an extremely slow machine. then you could generate the cache off line and upload it to the server.

And if you use the internal flash uploader you can select that the cache is generated during upload (This is set as default).

Thanks for the reply.

I just started to upload thousands of fullsize pictures, and my gallery is now really slow (at least on the first visit) because it needs to generate cache. By pressing the Generate Cache option, I just hoped it was not re-generating the same pictures all over again. Thanks! and good job on the 1.8 version!

It only generates the ones that are not generated yet...
