I'm using TWG1.8.1
I have just installed TWG and uploaded just 4 pictures into 'jewellery' folder, but I haven't removed the examples pictures yet.
I uploaded the images via ftp not the flash uploader

the first time I go to the website, the 'jewellery' folder shows an image (i have turned off collage) and going into this folder, all the pictures show correctly.

but if I then go back from 'jewellery' to main gallery, then back into the 'jewellery' folder, no images display.
Cleaning out the cache works, but again the second time I view the folder all the images stop loading
the same happens with the example pictures
the images are all 100kb or less and are around 500x500 pixels or less

info.php does show that i can only use small images - but it says 8M
no debug file has been created
i've added a php.ini file (using the example in the faq) in just about every directory on my website but i don't think its being picked up

my website is http://www.pamdidthis.webspace.virginme ... /index.php

any help is much appreciated - i do so hope you're not going to say virgin have a rubbish php setup & i can't run tinywebgallery

The first time you access a file it is rendered. The 2nd time it is read from the cache.

check
http://www.pamdidthis.webspace.virginme ... .thumb.jpg

does this file exist on your server? if yes set the permissions of the cache folder, that is can be accessed. maybe 777 is not allowed by your host.

even
http://www.pamdidthis.webspace.virginme ... /index.htm

is not visible. The cache permissions should be your problem...

that worked - the permissions were tighter as i followed the FAQ on securing the installation (i'd forgotten that i'd done that), but changing the whole cache directory to 777 works.

i forgot about the permissions - obviously I can't read long sentences like:
"Set the cache directory with chmod to 744 (774 if too tight, 777 if too tight)"
only got as far as 744

774 seems to work fine

Hello.
I have similar problem: first time login in to page I can saw photos after that not any more - only an empty box I can see there.
I checked permissions as described above: on "Installation check" link on an administration page I can see that cache is writtable. I'm running TWG from Apache on Windows XAMPP server.
This problems was happened a few days ago when I upgraded TWG from 1.8.1 to 1.8.2.
I upgraded manually - only changed files I copied to proper place. I double checked which files was changed - I first did a backup.
Can you help me, please?
Thanks in advance.
Andreo

if images are shown the first time and not the 2nd time anymore most likely the access to the cache dir is not right. Can you access images from the cache dir directly through your browser ?

Thank you for a quick answer. I found the problem: obviously I put .htaccess file there by mistake.
Thanks for hint.
Best regards
Andreo
