In the "HOW-TO" section I read the following:

"You can get the image name by using the variable $image! This makes it possible to include a different file for each image."

How do I use the variable $image?

This is intended if you want to display some text around the image with hte file image.txt.

a file called image.php can be used as well (change the extension in the config.php).
for example you could write a image.php that includes a file e.g. image1.txt, image2.txt - this makes it possilbe to display a different text for each image (if the caption is not enough!). I made this extension for a art gallery where each image has a big description.

in short - you write php code in the image.php and can use the variable $image in there.

an example is in the example folder:

<?php
include ($image . ".txt");
?>

thats it ;).
You should use html as big navigation type because otherwise ajax is used an this does not exchange the inluded text.

Is the page reloading when you click on a thumb (is the html version of the thumb shown? ) -

if you enter the image page from different thumbs - is the correct text shown?

Hi,

Actually I do not know what you exactly mean.

See here the Gallery.

The first 3 images have a corresponding text file.

Thanks

Hi Michael,

1)
The Text for the first picture is "Gruppe"
The Text for the Second picture is "Gruppe Alle"
The Text for the third picture is a long text...
Rest of pictures have at the moment no text.

When you go to http://www.vvat.at/twg14/index.php?twg_ ... preis+2006
an klick on the third picture you will get the correct text and also for the other pictres.

It doesn't work when you go http://www.vvat.at/twg14/index.php?twg_ ... Gruppe.jpg
and click on next> and next> etc... the text doesn't change.

2) I dont know what you mean with "Typo"

3) OK, I will check how "Captions" work.

Thanks
R.

This is right - because you don't use HTML as default navigation for the big navigation (the scolling version is DHTML!).

chaekc if you have changed this value in my_config.php!

2. Typo = Rechtschreibfehler : Veranstslterpreis 2006

3. Captions - enable login - then login - then you can type captions (I think this what you are actually looking for !)
Most of my demos have this!

You should also check the switches below show_caption - there are several options to use the filenames as captions - this is a way to set the captzions offline!
