I am trying to change the text on the index page

This is the description of the main folder stored in folder.txt
(folder_<language>.txt are the language dependant text files!)
Change the title above in the language files!

Where is folder.txt file??

it's in the pictures directory - this file can be used for each folder and can be langauge dependant too ;).

Please read howto 17. There is an overview about all files that can be used to customize the gallery.

You can change the default title of the gallery in the config! You can set the title for each language in the language/language_<language>.php file at $lang_titel. If you want to remove some languages - just remove them from the language directory.

btw. this text is copies 1:1 from the installation instructions on the web page ! ;)
