I have been running TWG for several months now with no problems... I am now getting this error message... can someone please explain what it means and how to fix it.

ERROR(S):

The home directory doesn't exist, check your settings.
If you have installed TWG to the root directory please move it to a subdirectory because some systems do not allow TWG Admin to access this directory. (../twg16)

maybe your hoster has changed the security settings - basedir restrictions does sometimges cause this. Does this happen everywhere?

this only happens after i login and go the the admin section. The gallery itself runs fine and I can still ftp in and load pics.

then it looks like basedir restrictions. This disalows sometimes to access files in a higher dir.

but you can still configure without the backend - therefore this should not be a problem...

could you please direct me on how to configure without the backend. Are you talking re-writing script or another method? Also... is there a way to move the folder without destroying/losing everything?

store your settings in my_config.php - the backend does the same.
If you modify my_config.php manually please don't use the backend anymore because it would overwrite custom settings in this file.

And about moving - simply copy everything and set the permissions that all files in the cache,counter and xml can be written again.
