I'm guessing that the forum is not interpreting the BBCode because of the spammers?

Just curious since I've got the BBCode setting on in my profile but still see all the raw BBCode..

If so it doesn't really seem too effective, at least for links, since plain URLs like:

#removed_broken_link

still become hot.

That's true. I'll get a new internet connection this week and then I start to install a few mods to make it harder for spammers to register and post links.

Hopefully after that this problem will be much less ;).

Good luck with it! Spammers and hackers are a clever lot.

Unless the image verification is exposed somehow maybe a simple font change (if possible) for the image could help. Might be less work/time than mods and stuff.

Someone maybe cooked up a OCR kind of script that can easily read default phpbb 'capcha' images or something.

the captcha is not very good I know - On hte week end I hopefully can add some modifications :).

The spammers who made it still are killed manually :)

New spam protection is now active - automatic spam has it now much harder ;). I have reenabled bbc code as well.
