Hi there,

I just upgraded from 1.4.1 to 1.5.
Worked fine. I replaced all files except the ones that were described in the how-tos.

So far so good.

Since I wanted to rename a gallery I set the flag $store_xml_in_picfolders.
Now, no comments are being shown. I already deleted session cache.
I can see xml files in the picture folder, but they are empty. No comments in there.

When I look into the xml directory, the files for one gallery are gone. Fortunately I did a backup of these files. What can I do now? Can I simply take the old files and rename them? Is there an easier way?

Cheers,

Stefanie

Hi,

actually twg should move them automatically. please make a 2nd test. delete the comment file in the pictures folder. make sure that php can write to this folders.

copy your backup in the xml folder and then open the galleries again and check if the moved files do contain the new data. normally they are only moved if the files has to be rewritten (e.g. a new comment).

coping should work fine - I actually don't do anything else.

I'm almost finished 1.6 - I will ad a testcase for migrating comments from the xml folder to the pictures folder.

/Michael

*arf*

It did not work.
I deleted all xml files of the picture folders and their subfolders and put the backed up xml files into their xml folder.

But now I cant see any pictures of my first gallery anymore. Before it worked just fine.
The second gallery looks fine, just that all the titles of the pictures are gone ... *argh* ...

I erased the parameter from the configuration, but the pictures do not show.
Deleting all chache info did not help either ...

something in the debug file?

If you set everything to use the xml folder - does it then still work?
all xml's files are still not UTF-8 because I store everything urlencoded there. this should not be the problem - but i'll check this weekend if I have missed something here.

Ah there are entries like these:

02.16.2007 15:24:55 - File 'pictures/2007-02 - AquaD-Dorf/AQ-Ddorf-20070202-22.jpg' is too big - it uses ~ 10059776KB. The memory limit is 8388608KB. Check the info for the maximum resolution! Please resize the image with an external tool or increate the php memory!

Increase memory? WTF?

This can not really be a problem ... the pics are 400 KB maximum ... the pics in the other gallery are not smaller ...

Removing the flag does not change anything, I get the error with and without that flag.

the image is too big - you have only 8MB php memory!

its not the size its the resolution that counts.
chck the info.php - it tells you what your max resolution is.

but this has nothing to do with the xml.
I ll check this tonight

it's only a warning - I calculate the memory the image most likely uses . the calculation is +- 1MB therefore it it possible that a pictures still work.

But maybe you should increase the php memory - 8 MB is very little. If you see the info.php it tells you what'S the ~ resolution is.

I have fixed the problem - But Im not happy with it - the migration is done when you write a file - therefore migration can take a long time if you dont add a comment and a caption.

I think I rewrite this part before I release this. Then the migraion is done when the directory is touched.

So what I will do then ...

- Decrease resolution of images in Gallery #1

- Manually copy the content of old XML files to new files in picture directories

Won't have time till Sunday, but I will let you know if it doesn't work.
Thanks for your help!

ALAAF!
