Post subject:  Question on files with no extensions

Hello,

I have a user that has uploaded a file with no extension in the name (example: dataupload). In the "Remote" window the file does not display as a file on the server. But if I user a separate FTP program I can see the file was uploaded.

I am wondering if there is a way to have this file displayed in the "Remote" window.

Thanks.

I can see files without extensions.

do you maybe have configured something with the extensions which prevents this?

I don't think so, but here are the settings I have configured (not listing them all). If you can take a look and see if something should be set differently that would be great or suggestions on configuration settings.

Allowed file extensions = all
Forbidden file extensions = true
Forbidden file view filter = blank
Show size = Yes
Big server view = Yes
Hide remote view = No
Show delete button = Yes
Enable folder browsing = No
Enable folder creation = No
Activate directory create detection = Yes
FTP Mode = No
Enable folder deletion = No
Enable file rename = Yes
Keep file extensions = Yes
Sort files by date = Yes
Hide directory in title = No
Truncate directory in title = No
Normalize file names = Yes
Normalize directory names = No
Normalize spaces = No
Hid files starting with "." = No
Exclude directories and files = data.pxp,_vti_cnf,.svn,CVS,thumbs
Edit extensions = blank
Visible file extensions = all
Hidden file extensions = ini,htm,html,zzz,ftpquota
Show full url = No

Thanks

I change one configuration setting
Hidden file extensions = blank

Then the file without an extension displays in the "Remote" window

But when I have the Hidden file extensions = ini, htm, html, zzz, ftpquota

Then the file without an extension does not display in the "Remote" window.

Any ideas on how to keep the keep the configuration setting with the parameters and still show the file without an extension?
