Post subject:  Problem with groups (JFU fJoomla 1.6)

Hi -
I have the latest Beta f. Joomla 1.6

What ist Does:
When not logged into the frontend I only get the text before flah (thats OK)
When I am logged in I get the text: "You have not specified a profile or group id in the parameters at the menu item you created for JFU or for your plugin. For the menu item you have to do this ..." (not OK) I Expect to have a JFU Downloader here

Configuration:
J. 1.6
JFU 2.13 (with uploads)
Using Groups:(2 profiles wih group ID named "public")
firrst profile disabled / no Users / no groups
2nd profile enabled / no users / Group "registered"
account I am trying with to log in: name:niba ;
niba is in Group Registered + "myGroup"
the jfu is in an menu and the group ID is entered

I hope I could explain my problem and someone can help me.

Cheers nils

Hi,

There where actually 2 issues:

1. One was in my code because actually the default group should be selected. And not an error message been shown. I have updated the download in the forum.

2. I assume you have been logged in as "Super user" right?
And you assume the Administrator is in the group "Registered"
"Registered" is NOT a parent of the "Super user".
There is an access level "Registered" where the group "Registered" and "Super User" are part of.
In JFU you have to define the groups and not the access level.

Best,
Michael

Hi,
thanks so far - the behaviour changed a bit but in my oppinion the mapping to the users doe still not work:
Just to be sure I setup a new testsystem.....

regarding 1: Thanks! :D
regarding 2: I think I did it the right way:

Menue Entry with valid JFUGroup (named public)

Image

User niba is in nearly every group (just to be sure) :)

Image

JFU has 2 Groups (name: JFUunregistered/JFUregistered; groupID public; Users: none/nearly every group - just to be sure)

Image

result: nomatter if a user is logged in onot inthe frontend - I always get the "text before flash" of the group "unregistered"

Image

ALTERNATIVELY:
When I am adding the user niba directly to the profile "JFUregistered" the functionincuploader appears in he frontend no matter if I am logged in or not

... did I mis something?

Thanks and regard
nils

I can reproduce it. My testing scenario was easier before.

i'll check where the problem is. Maybe one of the new tables behave different than I thought.

Which version of Joomla 1.6 do you use exactly.

It seems the return values of grous have changed between the 1.6.0 and the current trunk.

o.k. - so no trunk.

I started with the implementation before 1.6.0 stable so it seems they have changed something there already.
I'll adopt my selects to the new version tonight.

Thanks,
Michael
