I noticed that in the original release package of JFU v2.5.4, there is no Chinese language file in the lang folder for the Flash.

Then I made one based on the en.xml and renamed it to cn.xml. Next I copy my cn.xml to the lang folder beside the en.xml.

Of course my Joomla! 1.0.13 had been set to use simplified_chinese as my site language.

But when I go to the Upload page at backend, the button text on the Flash is still English, not my Chinese translation.

What is wrong? How can I told the Flash to pick up which xml file for simplified_chinese locale settings in Joomla! ?

Do you have any language mapping method to do this job ?

Thanks.

No chinese language file?

there is a cn.xml included!
In joomla\tfu\lang

and yes there is a mapping

"chinese_traditional" => "cn",
"chinese_simplified" => "cn",

are already defined in
joomla_flash_uploader.class.php

It this not the right mapping?

sorry, I did not notice that file.

Ok, finally I found the reason why there is one cn.xml file but JFU won't use it.

You had give a wrong name for Chinese language when mapping.

In the file joomla_flash_uploader.class.php, you should edit around line 125 and change the Chinese language name to:

"traditional_chinese" => "tw",
"simplified_chinese" => "cn",

These are the standard name for Chinese language in Joomla! . If you don't have a tw.xml file, I can send one to you.

Thanks - i'll change this,

are the language files tw and cn very different?
I don't have a tw one.

If you have a translation it would be great to get it.
It would be even better to get the translations for TFU 2.7 you can find in the forum.
Only a couple of lines more to translate.

Thanks,
Michael

Ok, I finished the Chinese translation for TFU 2.6 (I can't find 2.7).

Since I can't attach file here, I sent it to you by e-mail.

I had insert my personal info into the head of the file. If the former translator think that is not appropriate, you can delete that.

Thanks for your efforts and contribution to us Joomla! users.

You'll find it here:
