I've upgraded the upload limit to 50 Mb and TWG says it is 50 Mb
In php.ini it says 50 Mb... still I can't upload a file bigger than 10 Mb.

if you use the backend - go to the upload flash and switch to the html upload form and try to upload with the normal form - does this work?

if not then you still have restrictions on your server.

is the limit bound to a certain amount or e.g. to a certain time?

because this two settings does restrict the upload as well:

max_execution_time =3200
max_input_time =3200

It's not the time-limit.
It's the same with the old html-uploader, so I think I'll have to dig in those restrictions.

Then I think you have a restriction on your server I maybe don't know yet - maybe a limit of the filesite in the temp folder - do you have access to the server logs? maybe you get an error message there.

Anything in the log file counter/_mydebug.out when you use the flash uploader - all error messages I can catch are written to this file.

If you want you can "debug" the upload file: upload/tfu_upload.php - if you use my debug("your string"); function you get this messages in the log file.

Maybe this help you.

I've been searching through php.ini and besides
upload_max_filesize=50 M
there's also
post_max_size=8 M
I think I'll have to set this to 50 M also

right -

I thought you have set this already becauseI have this in the FAQ #4:
http://www.tinywebgallery.com/index_tfu.htm

My latest version of the TWG Flash uploader checks both limits. But TWG 1.5.5 itself still uses the php code from 2.1 - TWG 1.6 will use 2.2 as well.
