This error seems to appear only when uploading files larger than 10MB. The progress bar completes it's entire cycle before this error message appears. Files I upload under 10MB work great! Any ideas on how to fix this one?

have you read howto 4 of the TFU FAQ?

about the settings in php.ini?

Post subject:  Same problem

I am having the same problem. I've installed the web gallery and uploader on another serve successfully, but in installing the uploader on a new server to try it out, I get the

Upload failed. 1 file(s) of 1 could not be uploaded.

error.

The files I am trying to upload are quite small and I've also checked and set the

* upload_max_filesize
* post_max_size

Both are set to 8M

the directory permissions for the "upload" folder are also set to 777.

Ideas?

check if there is a tfu.log if you use the standalone version. There you normally get an error why the upload failed.

Post subject:  Log file location

Where would the log file be located? I looked in the dirs and subdirs of the program but it was not there.

in TWG: counter/my_debug.out
in TFU: tfu.log in the main dir.

Post subject:  No log file

There is no log file in the main directory (or any others within the HTML/htdocs directory)

I even changed permissions on the TWG dir to 777 temporarily to see if that made a difference, still same error and no log file.

but you get the directory listing from the server? No undefined in the header line?

Post subject:  Correct

I can ftp files over to the "upload" directory and they appear in the directory. I can preview the sample as well as create folders and delete files, but the upload of 1 or more files (different types) gives that fail message.

can you access the log file of the server? are there any messages?

Post subject:  logs

In the error log there doesn't look like there is anything relevant.

I saw
[Sun Feb 03 14:48:30 2008] [notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down
[Sun Feb 03 14:51:41 2008] [notice] Apache/2.0.52 (Red Hat) configured -- resuming normal operation

near the time when I was testing it, but then I deleted the error log, retried the upload a couple times and reaccessed the log file and there were no errors.

this is nothing related to the upload.

is there a .htaccess somewhere?

Post subject:  re: .htaccess

there is on another folder (it is not part of the sub location it is in now). I DID try it in a folder that had the .htaccess, but then saw that this doesn't work on the FAQ. It is not in a sub folder off of the htdocs and there is no .htaccess (it has been there since my original post).

I can email you the location if that helps.

The only thing you can do is to debug at this point.

TFU has a small debug function that writes to the log file.
in the tfu_upload.php you can add something like
debug("found");
after the include of the tfu_helper.php.
then you can see how far your upload comes and where it failes if you add some of this debug statements.

Post subject:  Narrowed done?

I used the debug as you described. It appears that when it gets to the tfu_upload.php it thinks I am not logged in. I have not turned on the "logging in part" of the tool and have left the configuration as it comes out of the box at this point.
