Hi folks,

Great little program, just as I was about to say, "yep, all finished" I ran into a brick wall.

I spent 30 minutes searching but failed to find the answer so forgive me if it has been asked before.

When I try to upload any images via TFU I get h t t p : 412

Can anyone shed some light on this error as it is frustrating me :oops:

**update, it appears that it does not like smaller photos. It is however happy with larger photos.

How strange. How small of image (do you mean resolution wise or KB wise?) do you need to make the error?

I'd like to see if it happens for me.

I don't think it matters, but I am guessing you are meaning the stand-alone TFU and not the TWG 'built-in' one?

I had a user try to upload a 6kb file and it returned that error.

I'm using the built in uploader.

I tried using files with a size of 90kb and they fail.

Some were just over 100kb but no joy.

I assume you mean that the "http : 412" error still occurs?

I'm not familiar with that error and although my search for "http : 412 error" turns up results none of them mean much to me since I've never had to try and fix one of these errors.

I've had no problems with 8K jpg files and larger and have tried some gif files too.

Might be worth making a test batch of image and other files in different formats and see if that makes any difference. Mostly what I have tried have been jpg files but I've also uploaded archives and some of the other image formats too.

Maybe look over the allowed extensions, other formats and that type of settings in your my_config file. I'd expect an 'invalid' file type would be handled gracefully internally but maybe something with your my_config is causing/allowing the 412 error to show?

Only other thing I can think of is the flash plug-in the other person is using being an issue.. I am using version 9 but maybe an older version of the plu-in is responsible.. Or maybe even it's configuration (when I right click flash content I get a flash player menu).

With the possibility of almost infinite webserver configurations though it could boil down to some aspect of your server. Whenever Michael drops back on the forums maybe he can zero in on the problem.

Hi,

412 - There is something wrong with the whole http communication.
I think this is maybe a server problem. I have read something about flash that it does not 100% stick to the http protocol - and some servers fail then when small files are used.

I alway use 1k - 1 MB files for quick tests - therefore it's not a problem on all servers.
Can you send me one of the files that fail?

I've got the same error (V2.7.4.4) No matter if the file size is small (16k) or bigger (144k) I still get the error. :(
