I've uploaded 50+ images to a sub-directory under 'pictures' and approximately 15 of them display as black thumbnails and as black full photos. I've deleted and reloaded the problem images. No difference. If I download the images, I can view them.
All of the images in the sub-folder are JPG images. the images that display a black rectangle are smaller than images that display correctly.
This is the only sub-folder with this problem. All of the content in my other picture sub-folders display correctly.
All suggestions are appreciated.
Running version 2.3.

I copied some of the images that do not display and an image that was displaying correctly to a new 'picture' sub-directory, cleared the cache and regenerated the cache. None of the images are displaying a thumbnail or the larger images. Even the one that was displaying correctly has joined the other images in that they all display black thumbnails and black larger images (with my watermark).

Have you checked if you have enough php memory?
Also it is possible that the gdlib simply has issues with your images.

Do you have image magic available? If yes enable this.

Best, Michael

Thanks for the response.
I had to look up ImageMagic. I see it's an image conversion application.
I'll try running a conversion on the original images to another form of JPG and see if that fixes the problem.
I'm skeptical because photos from the same photo shoot, taken at the same time on the same camera and converted from RAW to jpg using the same software, are showing up and some of those images are larger than the ones showing as black images.
