Post subject:  Flash video upload error

After carefully reading HowTo 34, I created a new folder pictures/multimedia and added an empty file video.php in it. I added HopeBay.jpg as a preview image and then used the Flash Uploader to upload HopeBay.flv. It took 2 minutes to upload 8.9mb, but on completion displayed the message: Error: http - 500

Your help would be welcome.

error 500 is a server error. You have to check you server log file whats the problem.
Maybe a security restriction of your server, or a file restriction...

This has nothing to do with howto 34 yet.

I used WS_FTP to upload the Flash video to my web space, and it was successful. This suggests that the Flash Uploader failure was not a host server restriction or security issue.

However, when I try to run it the Flash player loads and displays the video thumbnail, but fails to start with Error #2036. See:

Are there any additional files other than the .flv file that need uploading?

php upload != ftp upload - ftp has totally different restrictions because there is no web server - there is a ftp-server.

for flv's please see:

Thank you Michael - adding the php statement to video.php did the trick. My flash video now autoruns perfectly.

It would still be nice to be able to use the Flash Uploader instead of FTP to upload videos, especially for other users of my gallery. Please could you advise what security/file settings I need to enable it to function correctly.
