I wanted to include a graphic in top.htm, so I added this to pictures/folder.txt:
<img src="title.gif" width="200" height="56" alt=""> and uploaded title.gif to the pictures directory.
This displayed the title graphic as I wanted, but also included it as a thumbnail.

So I moved title.gif to the main twg directory and changed pictures/folder.txt to:
<img src="../title.gif" width="200" height="56" alt="">
This does not display title.gif.

Is there another way to include a graphic in top.htm?

what has top.htm todo with folder.txt?

If you want to include a graphic to top.htm put the code to top.htm.

If I put the image reference in top.htm it appears above the menu line - not what I need.
If I put it in pictures/folder.txt it appears in the required place below the menu line, but also appears as a thumbnail - not what I need.
If pictures/folder.txt can include an image in the pictures folder, why can't it include one from the twg folder referenced ../?

o.k. you wrote before "I wanted to include a graphic in top.htm"

I don't understand why the first one was working with the image in the pictures folder.
Because the code is included in index.php which is in the main directory and the path has to
be relative from there.

But you can always exclude files in the config or simply rename you file e.g. to folder.bmp and include this. The browser does not use the extension but the header of the image and dispalys it properly.

Now I understand that my html is included in index.php in the main directory, everything is clear. I put the title graphic in the main directory and it worked just fine! Thank you for your quick responses.

It has taken me a few days to get to grips with TWG, but as I understand it better I like it more and I've registered my copy.
