Hi There,

I dont want to put TWG in my server root directory so i need to hop across directories to where my images are stored.

Ive been trying to change the $basedir variable to something like:
$basedir = '../upload';

I want to have /TWG/ for my TWG install and /upload for my images folder.

Any help to get this working? or another strategy?

this should actually work like this.

On my demos I have the same setup.

Only refesh all caches because the directory structure is stored there as well.

Best,
Michael

Hey Michael,

Thanks for coming back to me. Great to hear this is similar to what you are doing!

So ive got my $basedir in my_config..
Then i refreshed all caches by Clean Cache -> "Delete Image Cache
Then i generated caches by Generate Cache -> Generate Cache Images

However in the admin portal i still cannot see the /upload directory structure displayed (Simple or normal views)

In the log i can see that its been trying to look in the right location:
01.14.2013 13:20:24 (en) - '__/upload/username/Horse164.jpg' could not loaded properly. Please check if the file is corrupt.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Matt

The admin does display the main directory of TWG.

So where do you go exactly? And how have you configured your user?
The "Upload Images" with the flash should point to the images directory.

Ahhh.. your right. Its now working.. i checked the user side.

My use case for TWG is a little different. I have 1000's of images uploaded to my servers. I want to be able to quickly review and delete ones that do not meet quality guidelines.

Ive just been using the admin interface to do this review.. i have been moving images into the "pictures" folder then using the admin interface.. however i was hoping to find a smoother way than moving images in and out.
Also my TWG implementation seems to no longer display thumbnails in the "thumbnail view"?

Any thoughts.. firstly on thumbnails in admin view?

and if its possible to enable deletion via the user interface in an efficient manner? I do like the list of the admin view..lets you get through a large number of images quickly

Thanks for your help so far.

Matt

you can configure the admin that is start one level higher and then you can navigate to this folder.

But for security reasons this is not allowed through the administration anymore. You would have to modify the .htusers.php

Cheers Michael,

I have found that file (.htusers.php) in admin folders. Do i just add the same variable as the config file?

Also anything i need to do to get thumbnails generating in admin view?

Thanks again,
Matt

no - you have to modify the path there. e.g. a ../ for the admin would start one level higher.
I'm just thinking about an exception in the form for this to enable this setting again.

About the thumbnail. The location where it is looking is not o.k. because ../upload would be in the twg main directory because you are already in admin. maybe this is because of your setup with the ../upload like this.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for quick response. Ive modified my .htusers.php file to have '../upload' and the directory view in admin screen is now looking perfect.

I was hoping that as i had aligned admin and $basedir to the same folder location this would make thumbnails work but im afraid they dont.
Is this what you were referring to above? "because ../upload would be in the twg main directory because you are already in admin"
So i understand thumbnails, are they generated on the fly and stored in a specific location?
Or are they just generated when you are browsing in admin for that session/page (and mine is just broken at the moment)?

Your help has been much appreciated. Getting very close to having this working 100%

Thanks,
Matt

I have to look at this. I think I simply have not covered the thumbnail display from outside folder...

Best, Michael
