I am concerned about the number of files in my cache folder. Therefore, as I switch from 1and1.com (who managed to trash the cache every so often), I am reorganizing my site.

I would like to have separate caches for each year of photos. I suspect the only way to do this is to create a set of sub folders with TWG inside each sub folder, my photos for a year in the pictures folder, and appropriately stuff the cache...

Correct?

Alternatives?

right now all images to to the cache folder without a directory structure.
In one of the next version I'll add an optional directore option.

About how many image we are talking?

I can easily create a home page linking to each of the sub directories I create with TWG installed in each sub directory.

My question is, "Can I put a link with an image on the top TWG page in each sub directory?" This would go back to my home page.

If so, how?

10.000 are no problem for the cache folder. I had ~ 400.000 on a linux and a windows machine.

yes you can. read the howto about root.txt (then there is a home image on the upper left corner).
If you put html code with your link and image to a file called menu.htm which places the code next to the login (see http://www.tinywebgallery.com/en/faq.php#h0 last entry)
