I will look into this. So far, 1and1 still believes I should not be able to upload larger than 8M and cannot have user side php.ini adjustments... seems odd even though they published the article instructing how to set up the php.ini.

thanks for the info on FastCGI.

Hi Michael,

I saw in a previous post that you where working on enabling chunking but was getting flash issues. Have you figures it out and is this an option?

I get unreported timeouts that I can not correct with a php.ini. My server host claims they are a server directive that are unavailable to the client. I also saw that JFU/TFU can assemble parts. Is there a way to make parts without zip/stuffit and is done on the backend?

thanks,
Jason

I guess I should have used the term split?

$split_extension = 'part'; // This is the extension when you upload splitted files - tfu can merge them after upload. A splited file has to ge like: file.extension.part1, file.extension.part2 ... - the file extension cannot be empty - if emptpy the default is part! to disable splited uploads use 'FALSE';

This? "Is there a way to make parts without zip/stuffit and is done on the backend? "

I know I can split a file and make "parts" using zip/stuffit. Is there a way to split a file into parts without using zip/rar...

If you where referring to chunking...

http://www.tinywebgallery.com/forum/vie ... ight=chunk

I understand that PHP can send a file in chunks rather than all at once. This starts a new timer for each chunk. The chunks are small enough to finish before any timeouts occur.
