 Post subject: Menu Manager profile ID

I love this little app.. however, I'm having a bit of trouble getting the log in to work. In my Joomla site http://www.gearboxstudio.com, I've installed a left-side module with login and a corresponding user. I've created a profile and assigned an ID. I've created a menu item to the JFU page.. but once I try to log in, I get this:

"You have not specified the parameter for a profile or group id in the 'Menu Manager'. Please enter a valid id there."

...which is frustrating because I did enter the profile ID in the Menu Manager.

Anyway, it logs me in to Joomla anyway and if I hit refresh JFU comes up as normal.

are you sure profile id is selected and an it is not the admin profile?

Which version do you use?

I'm using Joomla v.1.5.6 and JFU v.2.8, and yes- I have tried both the profile ID and Group ID in the Menu Manager.

by default a frontend profile with id = 2 is installed. Have you tried that?

Yes, I've indicated Profile 2 wherever I could find that option and created a corresponding contact profile within Joomla.. I'm sure this is something obvious I'm missing.

a contact profile?

You simply enter the profile id in the menu manager. Users are only important if you use groups and assign users to profiles.

Have yu read the help when you click on the help button in the component?

Of course, and followed it exactly as best I can tell.

Anyway, thanks for the responses.. I'll keep trying and post my findings when I figure it out.

why do you need a contact profile? Or do you mena a profile of JFU?

I wasn't sure if I needed one or not- and I didn't mean to make it sound like a big thing.. just wanted to make sure that the user in JFU was also added in the Joomla app and had a corresponding profile ID, only in case that mattered. I get the impression it doesn't, so I'm looking elsewhere..

If I can find your addy I'll email you the log in info for my site and let you have a look if you don't mind.
