Hi,

For Joomla this does not make sense because JFU is using the Joomla users and therefore the Joomla login.

What do you want to achive?

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough. I would like to achieve the following:
Image
So, if a non-registered person tries to enter the uploader he must enter a username and pasword first

Another, more important issue: once a file has been uploaded, the three directory vanishes and I get the following message "Joomla Flash Uploaderundefined". When I refresh (via the browser refresh) my window, all is ok again. I checked the chmod on the session_cache, it's 777.

I know - but to get this you would have to implement your own user management. Then you should use TFU which is the standalone version of JFU. There you can set $login = 'auth'; in the config.
For JFU I use the user management of Joomla.

About your undefined. Read the howto 1 of the TFU FAQ. It covers most of the server configuration problems already:
http://www.tinywebgallery.com/en/tfu/web_faq.php#1

if the undefined comes after the uplaod make sure that you have set the Joomla session save path to none. Delete the session_cache folder an retry.

ok, thanks: I will around the login.

As for the undefined: How do I set the Joomla session save path to none. In php.ini?
I'm using joomla 1.0.X

no - this is a joomla 1.5.x issue.

Do you have a tfu. log file? It is in the tfu folder of the component.

Yes, it's there (chmod 666). This is what all the lines say: 11.18.2008 13:40:34 - Illigal direct access or missing session settings - browser has to be closed to get a new session: PHPSESSID=c215039c3b89ebf47cf8d522f1163478

Does the session_cache file contains any files?

you can try to set

$keep_internal_session_handling = true;

at the end of tfu/my_tfu_config.php. and retry.

Yes, two files: a tmp file and one without an extension

I tried altering the my_tfu_config.php but is does not change anything
:(

I just checked your session name. It is PHPSESSION. this is strange because I use a different one becuase of some servers (like yours) that removes this and therefore this problem can happen. Can you pm me an url that I can debug a little bit.
