So what's the difference between these or is it simply the same thing with different names. I can't figure it out?

It's simple: JFU ist the Joomla wrapper for TFU.

JFU does fully include TFU to Joomla.

TFU does not have any graphical backend because normaly user integrate this into their own system.
For Joomla I know how the system looks like and therefore I implemented a interface for the configuration, with profiles user management and made the flash available for the back and frontend of Joomla.

The flash is 100% the same for the same version.
