Hi,

I'm having the following issues: error message

"Trying to use the TWG Upload Flash without authentication, the server login failed, expired or the configuration could not be found."

Joomla! 1.5.8 Production/Stable
JFU version 2.8.2
Joomla Session Handler "none"
The folder does exist and is writeable.

Note: set permissions on folder to 777, 775, then 755
Logged out, back in, refreshed browser, tried multiple
browsers (preferred is FF3) and uninstalled/reinstalled component.

It installed fine, opens with all folders visible then a popup
appears with the above error message.

Any help would be appreciated.

called the following directly...
administrator/components/com_joomla_flash_uploader/tfu/tfu_login.php

I got the following error in cpanel: (error: file is writable by others:)

------------------------------- cut and paste------------------------------------
500 Internal Server

Common reasons for this error are:

* Incorrect file/directory permissions: Above 755.

In order files to be processed by the webserver, their permissions have to be equal or below 755. You can update file permissions with a FTP client or through cPanel's File Manager.

* Incorrect Apache directives inside .htaccess file.

Make sure you have not specified unsupported directives inside the local .htaccess file. Such include PHP settings and Apache module settings.
------------------------------- cut and paste------------------------------------

administrator/components/com_joomla_flash_uploader/tfu/tfu_login.php
is at 755.

Also, no log file in:
administrator/components/com_joomla_flash_uploader/tfu/tfu.log

Is this your own server or are you on public hosting? If you are on public hostig you should ask your hoster because if the permissions are set to 755 and you still get an error maybe something is set wrong.

Then you should ask your hoster why your get this error although you have set the permission to 755. You can try 555 because the file does not even have to be writeable. But you should try with another file first because you have to make sure you can change the permissions back to delete the file.

I describe a little bit what can be a problem. But in your case you get a clear error message from the server.

Success...

I reset the entire TFU folder, contents and subfolders on the outside chance that it was one file that was hanging me up...and both the direct call and your program now work on my site.

Everything from /TFU down is now 755.

Unfortunately I did not note which file or folder was not set at 755.
(I do know that /TFU and the TFU_Login.php were both set to 755)

This website is a little gaming site that I used as a testbed for your program.

I'll be ordering this from you shortly for our company website which uses the same joomla cms.

Thank you very much for the help with this.
