But this is not the log you get when you enable upload debugging on the config page.

Make sure you have enabled this.


but it seems your session gets lot. have you already created a folder called session_cache in the tfu folder?

I've have Enable Upload Debug on yes the entire time.

It says next to it "If you have problems uploading files you can enable the upload debug. Then all steps of the upload are logged to the file tfu.log. This file is displayed on the Info/Limits/Register page."

That's where I got those errors on my last post, from that log.

There is no folder called session_cache in the tfu folder right now. Should I create that folder manually?

Yes,

please try to create this folder an set it to 777.

Normally the debug lot should have prints like:

5. Before move_uploaded_file. ....

Okay, that seemed to work...

Now the thing is...we have it setup so that it automatically creates a subfolder under "jfu_uploads" whenever a user submits a file (ex: johnsmith). It's doing that part correctly, but when I try to upload a file, the status says: The folder has no write permissions. All actions are disabled.

When I manually change the permission rights of the folders (jfu_uploads and these subfolders) to 777 in my FTP client and refresh the page, I have the correct permissions and I am able to upload successfully. How can this be setup automatically so I don't have to do anything?

your server is setting wrong folder permissions.

you can set the permissions for new folders on the main config page of JFU.

Hi Michael, im getting error 2 too. Ive tried everything that is mentioned here that im aware off, so probably its a server issue. Anyway ill need your assistance:

- tfu moved to component
- session_cache folder created 777
- upload works ok on default images joomla folder within backend
- upload DO NOT work on user subdirectory on default images joomla folder within backend
- upload DO NOT work on front end
- Joomla Flash Uploader Info / Limits / Register limits sets to 777

Thanks for the help. Im on a vps so if i have to change some configuration tellme so.

seems the folder you want to upload to gives a permission denied.

what are the permissions of images/admin ?

Thanks Michael, indeed have an issue with that but i dont know how to manage to every new user gets other permissions

Now admin had 274 (never saw this before: owner only can write)

who is creating the folders? If you use JFU (master profile) you can set the permissions of new created folders in the config.

JFu is creating them, seted as 777 but seems not to be working. Ill go back for this later since i have to solve other issues. Thanks for your prompt reply.

Then you have to check the permissions manually. But most ftp programs can change permissions recursive.

Michael, the only way to get this working on my setup is to change manually the permisions folder for the users. When ever JFU creates a user the permisions are 411. I tryed to set permissions to 777 here: "Some server create the files in the tfu directory with permissions that they cannot be accessed directly. Some server only allow 0755 but not 0777 or 0666. The current permission of tfu_config.php is 0
Because of security reasons only the permissions below can be set here. Please use a ftp software if you need different permissions. Only change this if you get the error that the configuration cannot be found!"

But is not working. What can i do?

You can set the new permissions of folders in the JFU config. I don't mean the permissions of the tfu files itself.

The goodness on knowing is that you can do a huge benefit from a comparative little effort (once you have it). Your words Michael worth hours to me and just a couple of seconds to you. Thank you pal.

The issue was tha in config the permisions where 777 insted of 0777. Change that and problem solved.
