I am unable to upload anything using the front end. As soon as I hit the upload link on my menu, i get "Joomla Flash Uploaderundefined" from there, nothing works. The Back End upload works fine. I have tried various troubleshooting techniques as suggested in the forums with no luck. I'm using Joomla 1.5.5. I get the following two messages in my log file:

01.15.2009 22:33:33 - Session data could no be restored : ...
01.15.2009 22:33:33 - Illigal direct access or missing session settings - browser has to be closed to get a new session: PHPSESSID=...

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the quick response. I did read the posts that you linked to. I added the session_cache folder and gave it 777 permissions, but this didn't seem to help. Do you have any other suggestions?

So the Joomla Session save location is not set to database.

do you have a url you can pm me?
