Hi there,

I am planning to register for JFU, but I realized when I try to upload Japanese file names (Japanese char used file names), they get broken after upload.

Is this done through the Flash program or can it be controlled through the language files?

I think this would be the same problem for Chinese, Korean, etc. languages that use 2 Byte codes for each of their chars.

Hope you understand my question and hope we have an answer to this as well.

I know this problem. And it should be possible to configure JFU to work properly. I only have tested this with a Chinese user with a Big-5 Encoding.

By default JFU tries to decode the UTF-8 language Strings to ISO-8859-1.

In the config of JFU you find the setting: Fix encoding

If it does not work please contact me because in the next version 2.9 I have made some small refactoring at this point and then we could try this version.

Thank you for the quick reply. I already went ahead and made the purchase for the Source Code Enterprise version through PayPal and once you prove it and send me the license codes I will look in to this. Also explained in my purchase that I plan to make a Japanese Translation and will provide you the language file later on.

You should have everything already + the instructions how to integrate this in Joomla. Depending how fast your are I could actually think of integrating your language file already to 2.9.

Are there actually big joomla sites for extensions in Japan where I could add JFU? I would need a little bit help then because I cannot speak Japanese.

Thanks! I received the info and working on it right now.

and yes Japan does have a market for Joomla following with Xoops. They even have Joomla Translated Books out in the book stores.

Just as you say lots of addons are still in English, so it does give them a hard time to get things working the first time.

One of my services is to translate modules to Japanese for their use and try to make the Joomla Market stronger over here.

I will look in to the lang files in a bit, but replies to this case will be after tomorrow as I have to run out in a bit.
